Growing up, I wanted to be a music therapist, as I knew how helpful music was for me. Fast forward a few years and I discovered the handpan. This opened the doorway to sound medicine and the science behind it. My ultimate goal as a sound practitioner is to hold a space where all are free and encouraged to express themselves as they are without judgement. In doing so, the more people in tune with their inner light, a brighter world will follow. I have worked wilderness therapy as a field guide, and the biggest takeaway from that experience is how nature invites us to observe ourselves in our natural state. With the ancient wisdom of sound, I plan to ; lead community hikes with an intention set to reflect on in our hike ; at the peak, I open a space for self expression as I perform a sound ceremony ; finish with a circle to share.
Quest for Peace Community Hike & Sound Ceremony - Horsetail Falls
Some afternoons are worth showing up for. Horsetail Falls is one of them. The trail winds through Dry Creek Canyon with forested slopes, flowing water, and the kind of mountain quiet that makes your brain finally chill out. At the falls, we’ll gather in circle for a live handpan sound journey beside the cascade. Golden light, canyon air, good humans, and space to slow down for a minute. No experience needed. No pressure to be anything other than yourself. This hike is about 4.5–5 miles round trip with significant elevation gain, but we’ll move at a community pace. Bring: 💧 water + snacks 🥾 comfortable hiking shoes 🧥 layers for changing mountain weather 🛏️ a blanket or meditation cushion 🔦 a headlamp or flashlight for the hike back 🌎 leave no trace energy Come for the waterfall. Stay for the “wait, I needed this” feeling. See you in the canyon.
